MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College outlasted MSOE in a back-and-forth five-set thriller for the second straight season on Thursday in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (7-8, 3-0 NACC), who collected their first home victory of the season, defeated the Raiders (5-9, 0-3 NACC) in five sets by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-10. WLC's first five-set win of the season was highlighted by turning a 20-11 third-set deficit into a four-point victory.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which hit .109 for the match, finished with 50 kills, 32 errors, and 165 attempts. Sophomore
Lily Schuetz (Lake Mills, Wis.) led the Warriors with a career-high 12 kills along with a career-best 16 digs for a double-double. Freshman
Johanna Andreae (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) added a season-high nine kills.
Junior
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) posted a team-high 23 assists in addition to 11 digs for a double-double. Junior
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) chipped in with 17 assists and a match-high four service aces. Junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) also served up four aces and led all players with a match-high 26 digs.Â
Sophomore Bailey Haliburton (Germantown, Wis.) finished with five total blocks, while sophomore
Hannah Vriezen (Marion, Iowa) had four block assists.
