CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College suffered its fourth straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference setback on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Illinois Tech at Stuart Field.
The Scarlet Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead over the Warriors (8-7-2, 4-5-2 NACC) with a 3rd-minute goal. The hosts tallied an additional two goals in the opening half, coming in the 21st and 43rd minute. WLC struggled offensively in the first half, recording just one shot.
The two sides played through a scoreless second 45 minutes, with senior goalkeeper
Puma Galvan (Racine, Wis.) recording seven saves. Freshman
Chris Aparicio (Des Plaines, Ill.) tallied Wisconsin Lutheran's lone shot on goal in the 88th minute.
IITÂ outshot the Warriors 17-3 and held an 11-10 edge in fouls. WLC had a slim 7-6 advantage in corner kicks. Galvan made a season-high nine saves.
Tomas Rebelatto was one of four Illinois Tech (8-6-3, 4-6-1 NACC) players to record three shots, two of which found the back of the net.
