MEQUON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College took at least one set from an opponent for the seventh straight match, but fell short against Concordia Wisconsin 3-1 on Thursday in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest at R. John Buuck Field House.
The Warriors (8-15, 3-8 NACC), who recorded more kills (52-51) and a higher hitting percentage (.199-.197) than the Falcons, fell in four sets by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23.
CUW pulled away from a slim 19-18 lead by going on a 5-1 run in the first set for a 25-21 win. WLC trailed 14-13 in the second set before another 5-1 run by Concordia Wisconsin gave them a four-point advantage and Wisconsin Lutheran wouldn't get any closer in a 25-18 set two defeat. The Warriors erased an 18-17 deficit in the third set by scoring seven straight points and ending the set on an 8-1 run for a 25-19 victory. WLC held the lead for the majority of the fourth set, facing just a pair of one-point deficits, before leading 23-22 late. The Falcons tallied the final three points of the set for a 25-22 triumph.

Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded a season- and match-high 16 kills for WLC. Junior
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) added 12 kills. Freshman
Hannah Rood (Burnsville, Minn.) distributed a match-high 23 assists, while senior
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) added 20 assists. Senior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) tied for a match-high 15 digs. Junior
Lily Schuetz (Lake Mills, Wis.) and freshman
Lorelai Gallo (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) finished with 14 and 10 digs, respectively. Schuetz and senior
Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) posted three block assists each.
Skylar Kumprey had 14 kills for CUW (15-9, 10-1 NACC), while McKenna Oetzman tallied 20 assists and 10 digs for a double-double.
