MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its 2024 non-conference schedule with a 9-0 shutout over Mount Mary on Friday at MMU Soccer Field. The Warriors (5-3-1), who scored a season-high nine goals behind a season-best 40 shot attempts, received a hat trick from freshman
Ava Zarling (Jackson, Wis.) along with goals from four other players in the victory.
Freshman
Sophie Kannas (Watertown, S.D.) scored the first of four first-half goals for WLC in the 4th minute. Freshman
Ginny Shade (Thornton, Colo.) found the back of the net in the 10th minute with an assist from Zarling. Shade returned the favor in the 10th minute by connecting with Zarling for a 3-0 advantage. Zarling finished the first-half scoring in the 12th minute after she scored off an assist from freshman
Joleigh Blahnik (De Pere, Wis.).Â
Zarling completed her hat trick in the 49th minute, before she and Shade hooked up again in the 52nd minute for a 6-0 lead. Senior
Sydney Matthews (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and junior Elizabeth Rutshow (Cottonwood, Ariz.) added scoring tallies in the 67th and 77th minutes for the final margin.
Freshman
Morgan Bluhm (New Berlin, Wis.) finished with a match-high five shots for Wisconsin Lutheran, which tied a season high with 40. The Warriors were credited with all nine corner kicks in the contest. Freshman
Sam Schroeder (Brookfield, Wis.) and sophomore
Kallista Street (Kenosha, Wis.) combined for a clean sheet.
Brianna Brown made 20 saves for the Blue Angels (1-7-1).
