Frerking's three hits, Knight's 7.0 innings lead Warriors to win

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College used a six-run second inning and seven strong innings on the mound from senior Gabe Knight (Brighton, Mich.) for a 9-2 win over Haverford on Tuesday at Terry Park.

After giving up a run in the bottom of the first, the Warriors (3-6) exploded for six runs on five hits in the top of the second. Sophomore Eli Michaelis (Wauwatosa, Wis.) drew a bases loaded walk to score the first run. Senior Henry Strupp (Watertown, Wis.) followed up with a two-run double, driving in sophomore Tim Frerking (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and junior Noah Zaccanti (Geneva, Ill.). Sophomore Oliver Lopeztello (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Elijah Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) drove in the next two runs with a pair of RBI singles and junior Nolan Hodgins (Caledonia, Wis.) was walked with the bases loaded, giving WLC its final run of the inning for a 6-1 lead.

The Fords (4-3) plated a run in the bottom of the third, but Wisconsin Lutheran got it right back with a RBI single from Frerking. No more runs were scored until the top of the eighth, when the Warriors brought in a pair of runs.
