Gabe Knight (Brighton, Mich.) for a 9-2 win over Haverford on Tuesday at Terry Park.
After giving up a run in the bottom of the first, the Warriors (3-6) exploded for six runs on five hits in the top of the second. Sophomore
Eli Michaelis (Wauwatosa, Wis.) drew a bases loaded walk to score the first run. Senior
Henry Strupp (Watertown, Wis.) followed up with a two-run double, driving in sophomore
Tim Frerking (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and junior
Noah Zaccanti (Geneva, Ill.). Sophomore
Oliver Lopeztello (Chicago, Ill.) and junior
Elijah Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) drove in the next two runs with a pair of RBI singles and junior
Nolan Hodgins (Caledonia, Wis.) was walked with the bases loaded, giving WLC its final run of the inning for a 6-1 lead.
The Fords (4-3) plated a run in the bottom of the third, but Wisconsin Lutheran got it right back with a RBI single from Frerking. No more runs were scored until the top of the eighth, when the Warriors brought in a pair of runs. Frerking drew a bases loaded walk and Zaccanti drove in senior
Foster Engelhardt (North Richland Hills, Texas) with a RBI single, as WLC went on to win 9-2.
Frerking led the way for Wisconsin Lutheran with three hits. Shevey, Engelhardt, and Lopeztello each finished with two hits, and Strupp drove in two runs. Knight picked up his second win of the season after throwing 7.0 innings, while only allowing two runs on four hits while tallying five strikeouts.
