LISLE, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College returned to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play on Tuesday with a doubleheader at No. 14 Benedictine. The Eagles defeated the Warriors by scores of 10-2 and 11-0 in seven innings.
BenU (22-6, 11-5 NACC) scored a run in the bottom of the first of game one to take an early lead. They tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to five. WLC (8-22, 2-12 NACC) had a chance to answer back in the fourth with back-to-back two-out singles, but a runner thrown out at the plate to end the frame. Benedictine tacked on two more runs in the fourth and a trio in the fifth before Wisconsin Lutheran was able to score its first runs in the top of the sixth. Junior
Nolan Hodgins (Caledonia, Wis.) scored on a balk from the Eagles' pitcher and freshman
Colt Ratliff (Oxford, Ga.) scored on an error after a single from sophomore
Oliver Lopeztello (Chicago, Ill.).
Hodgins, Ratliff, and Lopeztello all tallied a pair of hits for the Warriors, who finished with 10 hits and had baserunner in every inning of the opener. Four more WLC players recorded a hit.
BenU, which kept Wisconsin Lutheran off the board in game two, scored a pair of runs in the opening inning, followed by single runs in the third and fourth. Benedictine finished strong with a four-run fifth and a three-run sixth that put the game out of reach. Wisconsin Lutheran had runners in scoring position in four of the seven innings.

Ian Rintelman (Muskego, Wis.) picked up two of the six Warriors' hits in game two.
