Men's Basketball Slows Down St. Norbert For Fifth Straight Win

Stoltz's game-high 18 points paces four in double figures

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Graduate Jacob Stoltz (Kewaskum, Wis.) led four players in double figures with a game-high 18 points as No. 11 Wisconsin Lutheran College won its fifth straight game by handing St. Norbert its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss of the season on Wednesday at Time of Grace Center.

The Warriors (12-1, 5-1 NACC), who outscored the Green Knights 24-6 in points off turnovers, extended their homecourt winning streak to 21 games.

Following five lead changes and five ties through the opening eight minutes of the game, WLC went on a 10-0 scoring run to build its first double-digit lead of the game, 27-16, with 7:11 left in the first half. Wisconsin Lutheran led by a first-half high 12 points at 31-19 following a pair of Stoltz free throws at the 3:13 mark. SNC answered with an 8-0 scoring run to come within four points, but graduate Grayson Goetz (Aurora, Ill.) beat the buzzer with a layup to send the Warriors into halftime with a 33-27 advantage. Goetz led all scorers with 11 points at the break, as WLC outscored St. Norbert 11-0 in points off turnovers.

Wisconsin Lutheran opened the second half with a 14-4 scoring run to build a game-high 16-point lead with 15:09 left, highlighted by nine straight points from graduate Ryan Broeckel (Chilton, Wis.). The Warriors maintained their double-digit advantage for the remainder of the contest. The Green Knights came as close as 10 points at 57-47 with eight minutes to play, but a three from senior AJ Vos (Lombard, Ill.) and a layup from Stoltz quickly pushed the lead up to 15 points. WLC's lead hovered between 12 and 15 points over the final 6:45 of action, as Stoltz led all second-half scorers with 14 points.
