Sophomore records second multi-goal game of the season

PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College recorded its third Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory of the season with a 4-0 shutout over Lakeland on Wednesday at Taylor Field.

The Warriors (6-2-0, 3-1-0 NACC) struck early when sophomore Alaena Zastrow (De Pere, Wis.) converted a penalty kick in the third minute for her team-leading fifth goal of the season. Sophomore Ava Zarling (Jackson, Wis.) extended the lead with back-to-back unassisted tallies in the 27th and 31st minutes, giving WLC a commanding 3-0 halftime advantage. Sophomore Ginny Shade (Thornton, Colo.) capped the scoring in the 55th minute with her fourth goal of the year.

Wisconsin Lutheran dominated the stat sheet, outshooting the Muskies (0-8-1, 0-5-0 NACC) 18-1 overall and 15-1 in shots on goal. Zastrow and Shade each recorded a team-high four shots, with all of Shade's attempts landing on target. Freshman Grace Konzak (Cedar Grove, Wis.) added three shots, all on frame. LU's lone attempt came from Alyssa Voigt.
