APPLETON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College turned in a strong team effort to finish second overall at the 13th annual Gene Davis Invitational, hosted by Lawrence on Saturday at Reid Municipal Golf Course.
The Warriors totaled 58 points, finishing just behind team champion Lawrence, which won the meet with 27 points.
Graduate
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) paced WLC with a seventh-place finish in 25:10.3. Junior
Arnold Rupnow (Watertown, Wis.) followed closely behind in 12th at 25:46.6, while senior
Josh Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) took 23rd in 26:08.8. Freshman
Caleb Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.) crossed the line in 31st at 26:31.4, and junior
Silas Ebeling (Wauwatosa, Wis.) rounded out Wisconsin Lutheran's scoring five in 34th with a time of 26:36.0.
Lawrence's Ryan Cassiday was the individual champion among collegiate runners, completing the 8K course in 24:53.4.
The Warriors return to action next Saturday at the Private College Championship, hosted by Concordia Wisconsin in Mequon. The men's 8K race begins at 11 a.m.
