Warriors Battle To Scoreless Senior Day Draw With Dominican

WLC earns third point all-time against DU

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College played to a 0-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference draw with Dominican on Saturday at Warriors Soccer Field in the team's Senior Day match.

The Warriors (3-10-5, 2-5-4 NACC) controlled much of the opening half, outshooting the Stars 7-1 and generating three corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net. Sophomore goalkeeper Owen Gault (Moline, Ill.) made a first-half save to keep the match scoreless heading into the break.

DU (6-7-4, 6-3-2 NACC) pushed forward after halftime, holding a 6-2 advantage in second-half shots, but Gault stood tall with another save as WLC's defense turned away multiple late scoring chances to preserve the shutout.

Wisconsin Lutheran finished with a 9-7 edge in total shots and a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. Dominican held a 6-3 margin in corner kicks.

Freshman Bogdan Tereshchenko (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Warriors with three shots, while freshman Jesus Ramirez Pabon (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded two shots on goal. Gault made two saves in his third shutout of the season.

Joshua Memmelaar stopped two first-half shots in the opening 45 minutes for the Stars, and Cody Leyba completed the clean sheet in the second half.

WLC honored its four seniors during the match: Carlos Hernandez (Milwaukee, Wis.), Jack Leffel (Germantown, Wis.), Blake Maxwell (Green Bay, Wis.), and Cooper Young (Brillion, Wis.). The draw marked Wisconsin Lutheran's fifth tie of the season, matching the most in program history.

The Warriors conclude the regular season on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host No. 25 Edgewood (13-1-2, 11-0-0 NACC) at Warriors Soccer Field. Live coverage links can be found at WLCSports.com.
