WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 6-1 non-conference dual to Lawrence on Sunday at Hart Park.
The Vikings (1-0) picked up the doubles point from the Warriors (0-2) after winning 6-2 at both No. 1 and No. 2. WLC's No. 3 team of
Aidan Mattek and
Zach Nelson defeated Jonathan Myszka and Ernesto Torres 7-6 (7-3).
Nelson won Wisconsin Lutheran's lone singles match at No. 6, taking care of Torres 7-5, 6-1. LU claimed the remaining singles flights in straight sets, but not without some closely contested contests. Junior
Cameron Borchert (Loveland, Colo.) fell 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2, senior
TaDarion Perkins (Milwaukee, Wis.) fell 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3, sophomore
Myles Harris (Milwaukee, Wis.) fell 7-5, 6-0 at No. 4, and Mattek fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5.
Wisconsin Lutheran resumes competition in the spring with its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule.
