JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College collected its first win of the 2025 season on Saturday, clipping Edgewood 4-3 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference dual match at Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club.
The Warriors earned the doubles point over the Eagles with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Senior
Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) and junior
Connor Heezen (Pulaski, Wis.) were 6-4 winners at No. 1, while sophomore
Cameron Borchert (Loveland, Colo.) and junior
TaDarion Perkins (Milwaukee, Wis.) picked up a 7-5 victory at No. 2.
Newberg (6-3, 6-4), Heezen (6-0, 6-0), and senior
Logan Hennen (West Bend, Wis.) (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) each tallied singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 for WLC to come out on top. Borchert and Perkins were both upended in three sets at No. 3 and No. 4.
Wisconsin Lutheran (1-10, 1-3 NACC) travels to De Pere tomorrow for a 3 p.m. NACC dual match against St. Norbert (4-10, 2-1 NACC) at Green Bay Tennis Center.
