MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.), also known as Jimmy, recently graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a bachelor's degree in communication.
From the moment he joined the Esports program, Jimmy proved to be a true utility player. As one of the first to get involved when the program was just starting, he stepped up in countless ways to support its growth.
In the inaugural year, there weren't enough players to form full Overwatch or Valorant teams, but that didn't stop Jimmy. He played a vital role in organizing practices and fostering team chemistry among the other players.
By his junior year, a Valorant team was formed. Despite also being involved with the WLC men's volleyball program, Jimmy continued to dedicate his time by helping run practices and assisting during matches. Even though the team was still new and developing, Jimmy's versatility and leadership helped instill confidence in others, and he willingly stepped into multiple roles whenever needed.
As senior year concluded, Jimmy had the opportunity to compete in his first LAN tournament and showcase his skills on a larger stage. He played a key role in helping Wisconsin Lutheran achieve second place in Valorant Division 2 and quickly became a fan favorite. The following semester, he once again stepped up—this time to assist the Overwatch team in reaching sectional playoff tournaments.
Jimmy's leadership, dedication, and positive spirit will be greatly missed. Thanks for being part of the Esports team.
