ALBION, Mich. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its 2025 women's volleyball season on Friday with a 3–0 loss to host Albion at the Albion Invitational inside Kresge Gymnasium. The Britons won by set scores of 25–5, 25–12, and 25–13.
Albion (1-0) came out fast in the opening set, racing to a 13–2 lead and never looking back in a 25–5 win. Carly Frank and Kayda Herrick paced the Britons' attack during the run, combining for nine opening-set kills as the hosts hit a match-high .480 in the first set.
The Warriors (0-1) settled in during the second set, trading points early to knot the score at 6–6. Albion responded with a 9–2 run to build separation before closing the set 25–12.
The third set followed a similar pattern as WLC kept it close early, trailing just 5–3, before Albion used strong serving from Paige Williamson and steady hitting from Frank to take control in a 25–13 final.
Seniors
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) and
Emily Marohn (Reedsville, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with three kills apiece. Freshman
Lauren Charbonneau (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) collected four assists, while Marohn and sophomore
Lorelai Gallo (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) tied a team-high with 10 digs apiece.
Frank finished with a match-high 11 kills and Molly Edmunds added a double-double of 19 assists and 11 digs.
