Warriors Cruise To 4-0 Road Win At Martin Luther

Adema scores twice to lead WLC to 2-0 start

NEW ULM, Minn. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College rolled to a 4-0 non-conference victory over Martin Luther on Sunday at Martin Luther Soccer Pitch, improving to 2-0 on the young season.

The Warriors controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Knights 36-10 and earning 10 corner kicks while not allowing one on the defensive end.

WLC struck first in the 22nd minute when sophomore Emma Adema (Sheboygan, Wis.) netted her second goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Ava Zarling (Jackson, Wis.) to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.

Wisconsin Lutheran wasted little time adding to its advantage in the second half. Just over a minute in, sophomore Alaena Zastrow (De Pere, Wis.) buried a pass from sophomore Ginny Shade (Thornton, Colo.) to make it 2-0. Adema doubled her tally in the 54th minute, finishing off a feed from Zastrow, and Shade capped the scoring three minutes later with her first goal of the year.

Defensively, junior Kallista Street (Kenosha, Wis.) earned the win in net with two saves over 71 minutes before freshman Ella Malliet (Burlington, Wis.) closed out the shutout.

Zarling paced the Warriors' relentless attack with nine shots, including seven on goal, while Adema and Zastrow combined for three goals and an assist.

WLC (2-0-0) is idle until Friday, September 12 when it hosts Mount Mary (0-1-0) for a 7 p.m. non-conference match at Warriors Soccer Field. Live coverage links can be found at WLCSports.com.
