CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College fell to a pair of non-conference opponents in Franklin and host North Park on Friday at the Windy City Invitational.
The Warriors (2-7) fell to the Grizzlies in their first match in four sets by scores of 25-18, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-16. Senior
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) led WLC with a match-high 17 kills and tied a match-high with four service aces. Senior
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) followed with 11 kills and tied a career-best five block assists. Freshman
Lauren Charbonneau (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) recorded her third double-double of the season with 28 assists and a team-high 14 digs. Senior
Emily Marohn (Reedsville, Wis.) added 12 digs.
Kaitlyn Lavy had 13 kills, Hope Moring had 23 assists, and Campbell Clark had 18 digs for Franklin (5-2).
Wisconsin Lutheran fell to the host Vikings in their second match in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-20. Wigley again paced the Warriors with six kills, three service aces, and a team-high tying six digs. Charbonneau collected a match-high tying 18 assists. Marohn and sophomore
Willa Hollander (St. Louis, Mo.) also chipped in six digs apiece.
Annaliese Rottman had 10 kills, Kendal Britton had 18 assists, and Carolina Aviles had 15 digs for North Park (8-2).
