WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College split a non-conference triangular on Saturday with Ripon and Augustana (IL) at Time of Grace Center.
WLC (3-9) picked up a 3-1 win over Ripon, rallying after dropping the first set for a 24-26, 25-15, 25-16, 25-11 victory. Senior
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) led all players with 14 kills, while sophomore
Elexa Varden (Dixon, Ill.) tallied a career-high eight kills. Freshman
Lauren Charbonneau (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) collected a season-high 37 assists. Freshman Brooke Bartlet (West Bend, Wis.), Biggin, and Charbonneau each recorded five service aces, en route to the team's school-record tying 23 aces for the match. Biggin also notched a career-high six block assists. Â
For the Red Hawks (6-10), Makenna Harren had eight kills, Tristin Arlen and Mattea Jacobson had nine assists, and Michaela Riege had 13 digs.
Wisconsin Lutheran dropped a 3-0 match to Augustana (IL) by scores of 27-25, 25-18, and 25-20. Biggin posted a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs, while senior
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) also added 15 kills. Charbonneau chipped in with 29 assists and three service aces, both team highs. Varden had four total blocks, and senior
Emily Marohn (Reedsville, Wis.) contributed seven digs.
Mallory Coley had nine digs and Abby Kirchner added a double-double with 14 assists and 11 digs for the Vikings (6-6).
The Warriors return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play on Wednesday at Alverno (2-8, 0-0 NACC). First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
