BELOIT, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College secured its first win of the 2025 season with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Beloit on Wednesday at Strong Soccer Field. The win marked the Warriors' eighth straight over the Buccaneers.
Sophomore forward
Rolando Colin (Waukegan, Ill.) delivered a memorable performance, recording a hat trick – WLC's first since
Tony Bedolla accomplished the feat in October 2023.
Colin wasted no time putting Wisconsin Lutheran ahead, finding the back of the net in the third minute on an unassisted strike. After halftime, he doubled the lead in the 50th minute by converting from the penalty spot. Just over 10 minutes later, Colin completed his hat trick in the 62nd minute, finishing off a setup from sophomore
Rafael Galindo (Delavan, Wis.).
The Buccaneers pulled one back late when Hunter Nelson scored in the 90th minute off an assist from Santiago Gomez.
Beloit held a 19-13 advantage in shots, but sophomore
Aaron Lambert (Green Bay, Wis.) anchored the Warriors with four saves in net. WLC finished with eight shots on goal compared to the Buccaneers' five. Colin led all players with five shots.
Wisconsin Lutheran (1-1-1) heads to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend for two matches at the John P. Salamone Invitational. The Warriors will face host Oglethorpe (1-1-1) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage links can be found at WLCSports.com.
