JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 7-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference dual to Illinois Tech on Sunday at Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club.
The Scarlet Hawks (10-5, 4-0 NACC) claimed all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. At No. 1 doubles, senior
Connor Heezen (Pulaski, Wis.) and junior
Cameron Borchert (Loveland, Colo.) fell 6-1, while the No. 2 tandem of sophomore
Myles Harris (Milwaukee, Wis.) and senior
TaDarion Perkins (Milwaukee, Wis.) was defeated 6-0. Freshman
Zach Nelson (Watertown, Wis.) and junior
Aidan Mattek (Appleton, Wis.) dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, IIT secured straight-set victories across all six flights to complete the sweep. Heezen was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Borchert dropped a 6-1, 6-1 match at No. 2. Perkins competed at No. 3 singles, falling 6-1, 6-3, while Harris was defeated 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot. Mattek (No. 5) and Nelson (No. 6) each lost by 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 scores, respectively.
The Warriors (0-9, 0-3 NACC) will travel to Madison on Friday, April 17 for a 3 p.m. conference dual against Edgewood (7-13, 1-3 NACC).
