JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 7-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference decision to St. Norbert in its final home match of the season on Saturday at Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club.
Prior to the match, the Warriors recognized seniors
Connor Heezen (Pulaski, Wis.) and
TaDarion Perkins (Milwaukee, Wis.) for their contributions to the program.
The Green Knights (8-11, 4-1 NACC) took control early by winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the point. At No. 1 doubles, Heezen and junior
Cameron Borchert (Loveland, Colo.) fell 6-1 to Jackson Harpt and Owen McDonough. Perkins and sophomore
Myles Harris (Milwaukee, Wis.) were defeated 6-2 at No. 2 doubles by Seth Kogutkiewicz and Sam Schneider. WLC's top performance came at No. 3 doubles, where junior
Aidan Mattek (Appleton, Wis.) and freshman
Zach Nelson (Watertown, Wis.) earned a 7-6 (7-3) victory over Sam Stimpson and Mikhail Garland.
In singles play, SNC swept all six matches in straight sets. Heezen dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 1 singles, while Borchert fell by the same score at No. 2. Perkins was defeated 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Harris battled at No. 4 before falling 6-2, 6-2, and Mattek was edged 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5. Nelson rounded out the lineup with a 6-0, 6-0 loss at No. 6.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-11, 0-5 NACC) will conclude its conference schedule on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Concordia Wisconsin (11-5, 2-2 NACC).
