Women's Soccer erupts for nine goals to earn first win of 2007

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team erupted for nine goals as the Warriors blanked Rockford College 9-0 on Wednesday night at Warrior Field to pick up their first win of the 2007 season.

The scoring parade began in the fifth minute when Kristen Kraklow scored her first of two goals on the night. Kraklow added her second goal not even two minutes later to put WLC up 2-0.

In the 17th minute, Meta Kolander put one of her three goals on the night into the net. Megan Mawhinney added another goal in the 37th minute to put the Warriors up 4-0 at the break.

Kolander began the second half with two consecutive goals, one coming in the 46th minute, with the other following in the 56th. Jessica Ide joined the scoring party in the 59th minute, the first of two for her on the night, off a pass from Ashley Poetter, who also added a goal of her own. .

WLC totaled 46 shots in the game, opposed to only four attempted by the Regents.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-4, 1-0 NAC) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts to MSOE at 1 p.m. at Warrior Field.
