MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team dropped a close match by the score of 1-0 to the Maranatha Baptist Bible College Crusaders on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

After both teams played a scoreless first half of soccer, Maranatha's Melissa Nichols, who tallied nine shots in the contest, put a ball past Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) for what eventually would be the game-winning goal.

WLC managed only three shots in the game, opposed to 16 for the Crusaders. Sloan stopped five shots in goal for Wisconsin Lutheran, who lost by one goal for the fifth time this season.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-9, 1-3 NAC) will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to River Forest, Ill., for a Northern Athletics Conference showdown with Dominican University at 4 p.m.
