MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's soccer team suffered a 5-2 loss to the Lakeland College
Muskies on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Conference
match at Warrior Field.
Lakeland's Lindsay Rogers scored the first of her four goals on
the afternoon at the 1:29 mark of the first half as the Muskies
built a 3-0 advantage just 20 minutes into the match.
Sam Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) put the
Warriors on the scoreboard with 32:15 gone by in the first half to
cut the deficit to 3-1. Trish Mahnke (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley
Lutheran) netted WLC's second goal of the half at the 42:19 mark as
Wisconsin Lutheran trailed 3-2 at halftime.
The Muskies' Lindsay Rogers added two second half goals to pad
the lead at 5-2. Wisconsin Lutheran finished with 15 shot attempts
in the contest, compared to 19 for Lakeland.
Junior Catie Schultz (Green Bay, Wis./N.E.W. Lutheran) paced the
Warriors with six shots attempted. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Sloan
(Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) made seven saves.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-11, 2-5 NAC) travels to River Forest,
Ill., on Tuesday for a NAC match against Concordia University
Chicago at 4 p.m.
