MILWAUKEE - Kyle Plath (Lake Geneva,
Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) made seven three-pointers and scored a
game-high 25 points to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's
basketball team to a 105-86 victory over the Edgewood College
Eagles in a Northern Athletics Conference game on Saturday at the
Recreation Complex.
Plath scored 17 of his 25 points in the first half as he
connected on 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. The Warriors, who led by
as many as 15 points in the first half (41-26), took a 46-33 lead
into halftime by shooting 55.6 percent (10-18) from three-point
range.
Wisconsin Lutheran built its largest lead of 27 points (87-61)
with 8:27 remaining in the second half as Edgewood got no closer
than 12. WLC shot 51.7 percent (15-29) in the half.
Marcus Zondag (Randolph, Wis./Randolph) finished with 20 points
and eight rebounds. Nate Sorum (Mequon, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
added 15 and Kyle Madson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran), who
made his first collegiate start, had 14. Danny Behm (Jackson,
Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) chipped in with 10.
The Warriors out-rebounded the Eagles, who came into the game
with a +10 rebounding margin, 42-32. WLC shot 48.3 percent (14-29)
from three-point range for the game and surpassed the 100-point
total for the fourth time this season.
John Ciche scored 21 points to lead four Eagles (12-9, 9-5 NAC)
in double figures.
Wisconsin Lutheran (15-5, 9-4 NAC) hosts Rockford College on
Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a NAC contest at the Recreation Complex.
