FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
softball team lost to St. Mary's College (Ind.), 6-0, Tuesday
morning at the Gene Cusic Classic to fall to 1-2 on the young
season.
SMC (3-2) scored twice in the first and once in the second on
three unearned runs. The Belles added solo runs in the fourth,
fifth and sixth to cap off the scoring.
Rachel Doege (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) collected
the Warriors' lone hit on a double to right center in the
fifth.
Senior Michelle Shambeau (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran)
went the distance, giving up five hits and just two earned runs
while striking out six batters.
