Indoor Track & Field season comes to a close at UW-Whitewater

Box score

WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's and women's indoor track & field teams wrapped-up their indoor season on Friday at the Karl Schlender Last Chance Meet at UW-Whitewater.

Due to Wisconsin Lutheran's spring break falling during the final meet before the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, the Warriors sent two athletes to compete on the day.

Junior Zach Shiels (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) won the 5,000-meter run by finishing in a time of 15:22. It was the only race that Shiels competed in on the day.

Blake Miller (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), the other lone Warrior to compete on the day, placed 10th in the mile run by crossing the finish line in 4:50.

There were no athletes from the women's team to compete on the day.

Wisconsin Lutheran will begin its outdoor season on March 29 when it hosts its own Warrior Invitational. Events get underway at the Outdoor Athletic Complex at 10:30 a.m.
