FORT MYERS, Fla. - Worcester Polytechnic Institute scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 3-2 win over WLC Friday in the Warriors' final game of their spring trip at the Gene Cusic Classic.

The Warriors scored first as senior catcher Breanne Duebner (Manitowoc, Wis./ Manitowoc Lutheran) reached in the top of the third on a fielder's choice. After stealing second, freshman Laura Konop (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) drove Duebner in on a base hit up the middle.

In the fouth, senior pitcher Michelle Shambeau (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) helped her own cause by singling in Rachel Doege (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) for a 2-0 lead.

Shambeau (2-3) allowed just three hits as all three runs were unearned. She struck out eight and walked just one batter.

Wisconsin Lutheran leaves the tournament with a 2-6 record while WPI's record stands at 6-4. The Warriors begin Northern Athletics Conference play Wednesday, March 26 at Rockford.
