Warriors compete in wintry conditions at own meet

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College Track & Field teams hosted the Warrior Relays on Saturday in the midst of a rare April snow storm. Despite challenging conditions, the Warriors were able to set respectable marks in some events and come away with a win in the men's division.

Freshman Andrew Loescher (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) prevailed in the shot put, breaking the school record with a toss of 13.51 meters (44-4 ft.).

Junior captain Emily Goss (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) had a big day for the women's team, breaking school records in the discus and hammer throw with marks of 29.05 meters (95-4 ft.) and 34.56 meters (113-5 ft.), respectively.

The men finished first out of four teams with a total of 129 points. The women came in second with 121. Carroll College won the women's division with 159 points.

Wisconsin Lutheran will compete in the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational next Saturday in Lisle, Ill. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
