LISLE, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
track & field teams competed at the Benedictine University
Eagle Invitational in Lisle, Ill., on Saturday. The meet featured
nearly 20 teams and many provisional and automatic national
qualifying marks.
The 10,000 meter run was the source of two school records for
the Warriors. Zach Shiels (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran)
crossed the line in first place with a time of 32:26.02 in the
men's race and Beth Windschitl (Sleepy Eye, Minn./Minnesota Valley
Lutheran) finished the women's 10k in second with a time of
41:04.2.
Also for the men, Ryan Timm (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley
Lutheran) finished seventh in the 100 meters with a time 11.34.
Matt Moeller (Clinton, Mich./Clinton) finished fifth in the 110
meter hurdles with a time of 15.95 and Nate Rosenberg (Hortonville,
Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) finished ninth in the javelin with a
season best 45.32 meters (148-8).
Overall, the men finished 16th out of 19 teams. Monmouth College
won the meet with 146 total points. The women finished 14th out of
17 teams. UW-Oshkosh took the team title with 201 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran will next be in action Saturday, April 26 at
Ripon College for the State Private College Championships. Events
are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
