MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball team lost
both games of a doubleheader to the Concordia University Wisconsin
Falcons on Sunday afternoon, dropping the first game 19-3 and the
second 17-8.
The Warriors could not keep pace with the Falcons early, as they
led 8-2 after two innings. CUW hit four home runs in the game,
including one in the nine-run sixth inning.
Senior Chris Glasel (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) went
2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Freshman catcher Josh Ferrell
(Cocoa, Fla./Temple Christian) went 1-for-2 with a home run, also
drawing two walks.
The Warriors offense started strong the second game, scoring
eight runs in the first four innings and tallying 18 total hits.
Concordia Wisconsin was too much for a depleted Warrior pitching
staff that playing its sixth game in just four days.
Six Warriors had a multi-hit game, including Eric Burrow (Lake
Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) who was 4-for-5 with an RBI and run
scored. Ferrell hit his second home run of the day, a three-run
shot in the fourth inning. Also, Matt Lang (East Troy, Wis./East
Troy) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-14, 1-5 NAC) jumps out of conference play
on Thursday when it travels to Appleton to face the Lawrence
University Vikings. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled
for 4 p.m. at Don Hawkins Field.
