KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team began its indoor season on Saturday by
competing at the Carthage College Tadd Metzger Invitational at the
Tarble Athletic Recreation Center.
Sophomore Andrew Loescher (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine
Lutheran) paced the Warriors by placing fourth overall in the
28-competitor field of the 35-pound weight throw. His toss of 14.10
meters was good for five points. Senior Rick LaFleur (Random Lake,
Wis./Random Lake) placed eighth in the same event with a throw of
13.07 meters.
Senior Zach Shiels (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran)
rounded out the scoring for the WLC by placing sixth in the
3,000-meter run with a time of 8:54.47. He finished behind five
competitors from UW-Stevens Point.
Wisconsin Lutheran accumulated nine points on the afternoon,
good for a 14th-place team finish out of 17 teams that competed at
the event. UW-Stevens Point won the team title with a total of
239.50 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to the track next Saturday when it
competes at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.
