MILWAUKEE - Ellie LaFond scored three goals and
added an assist to lead the Alverno College Inferno past Wisconsin
Lutheran College on Tuesday afternoon in a Northern Athletics
Conference women's soccer game.
The Warriors fell behind 1-0 with 4:38 gone by on the first-half
clock after LaFond netted her first goal of the match. She added
her second goal at the 21:39 mark as the Inferno held a 2-0 lead
over WLC at the halfway point.
Alverno (5-7, 2-4 NAC) built onto its two-goal lead by netting
four goals in the second half of action. LaFond finished with eight
of AC's 28 shot attempts in the game.
Junior Meta Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
tallied two shots for the Warriors, who finished with four for the
game. Junior Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) made 14
saves in goal for WLC.
Wisconsin Lutheran (3-10, 1-6 NAC) concludes its four-game road
trip on Saturday when it battles the Lakeland College Muskies in a
1 p.m. NAC match in Sheboygan, Wis.
