STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's track & field team placed 12th out of 15 scoring
teams on Saturday at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational at the
Multi-Activty Center.
Wisconsin Lutheran's distance medley relay team accounted for
all eight of the team points on the day. The Warriors finished
second out of five teams with a time of 11:30.10.
Sophomore Andrew Loescher (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine
Lutheran) broke the school record in the 35-pound weight throw for
the second straight week. His throw of 14.15 meters was good for a
ninth place finish out of 43 competitors in the event. Senior
Blaine Welch (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) placed 24th in the same event
with a toss of 11.95 meters.
Loescher also just missed a scoring position in the shot put,
where he placed ninth out of 37 competitors with a mark of 12.96
meters. Junior Tyler Schroeder (Sparta, Wis./Bangor) finished with
a time of 59.09 in the 55-runner field of the 400-meter dash to
round out the competition for the Warriors.
WLC finished with a total of eight points in the final team
standings. Invite host UW-Stevens Point claimed the men's team
title with 207.50 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran will next be in action on February 21 when
its competes at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational.
