ORLANDO, Fla. - The Warriors team fell behind
8-0 after two innings and could never fully recover in falling to
the Emerson Lions 12-5 on Thursday in the second game of a
doubleheader at the RussMett Central Florida Invitational.
Emerson, which capitalized on four Wisconsin Lutheran errors,
plated four runs in each of the first two innings. The Warriors got
on the scoreboard in the third on a pair of RBIs by Jared Huntemann
(Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) and Brad Marshall (Cudahy,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran).
After the Lions scored two more runs in the bottom of the third,
the Warriors tallied their final three runs of the game in the top
of the fourth on RBIs by Kyle Edlhuber (Mukwonago, Wis./Luther
Preparatory) and Shawn Glasel (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley
Lutheran).
Emerson added single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings
to round out the scoring. Edlhuber paced WLC at the plate by going
2-for-4 with an RBI and one run scored. Freshman Tyler Geidel
(Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) took the loss on the mound
for the Warriors.
Wisconsin Lutheran (3-3) faces Coe College in the final
doubleheader of its spring break trip on Friday beginning at 12:30
p.m.
