CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team opened its outdoor season on Saturday by competing in the J. Owen Huntsman Relays at Wabash College.

Fellow junior Ryan Timm (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) also competed in the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put and javelin throw. His highest finish came in the 100-meter dash, where he placed fifth.

Senior Rick LaFleur (Random Lake, Wis./Random Lake) participated in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. He placed second of eight in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.82 meters. Senior Blaine Welch (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) placed fourth of 10 in the javelin throw with a mark of 38.28 meters. WLC also fielded teams in the 1600-meter sprint medley relay and distance medley relay, placing second and sixth, respectively.

Five Warriors competed in events on the afternoon, but team scores were not kept.

Wisconsin Lutheran makes its home debut next Saturday when it hosts the Warrior Invitational at Raabe Stadium. Events are slated to get underway at 10:30 a.m.
