Bucs blank Warriors in nightcap, 12-0

MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran College was blanked by Beloit College 12-0 in seven innings on Thursday in the second game of a non-conference baseball doubleheader at Neumann Family Field.

The Buccaneers began the second game just like they did in the first, putting six runs on the board in the top half of the first to take an early lead over Wisconsin Lutheran. The visitors added a single run in the second and two more in the third for a 9-0 advantage. Beloit scored three runs over the final three frames and the game ended after seven innings due to run rule.

The Warriors tallied six hits in the contest, opposed to 15 for Beloit. Senior Jared Huntemann (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) and sophomore Justin Barkhurst (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) each had two hits for lead the Warriors.

Drew Oswald went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to pace Beloit (12-2).

Wisconsin Lutheran (3-8) opens Northern Athletics Conference play tomorrow when it hosts Lakeland College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Neumann Family Field.
