WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team finished fifth out of seven teams at
the Wisconsin Private College Championship on Tuesday at Carroll
University's Dennis Punches Track & Field Complex.
Junior Dominique Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Vincent) won the
triple jump with a distance of 14.35 meters and tied Concordia
Wisconsin's Erik Prescott for first in the long jump with a
distance of 6.63 meters. His mark in the triple jump was good for a
Private College Championship all-time record.
Freshman Tate Plath (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) finished a
strong 800-meter run in second place with a time of 2:03.32. Fellow
distance runner Blake Miller (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
placed third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:23.50. Junior
sprinter Ryan Timm (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran)
placed third in the 200 with a time of 23.19 seconds. Finally, in a
very close 1600-meter relay, the Warriors came through the finish
line in second place out of four teams with a time of 3:40.19.
Wisconsin Lutheran finished fifth with 75.5 points. Host Carroll
University captured the team title with 224 points. Ripon College
finished a distant second with 138.5 points.
The Warriors will compete in the Northern Athletics Conference
Outdoor Track & Field Championship this weekend hosted by
Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Ill.
