NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Wisconsin Lutheran College
senior Zach Shiels (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) finished
in 28th place out of 86 competitors in the 5,000 meters on Thursday
at the Gregory Track & Field Invitational hosted by North
Central College.
Despite falling short of the NCAA provisional qualifying time of
14:45 in the event, Shiels managed to finish the race in a time of
15:09.61 for 28th place. Shiels was the only athlete from WLC to
compete at the four-day invite, where team scores were not
kept.
Shiels and the Warriors will compete in their final meet of the
outdoor season on Friday, May 15 at the Augustana Twilight. Events
are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
