ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Competing through harsh
weather conditions, the Wisconsin Lutheran men's track & field
team participated in its final meet of the 2009 regular season at
the Augustana Twilight held at Paul V. Olsen Track.
In the final meet of his career, senior Rick LaFleur (Random
Lake, Wis./Random Lake) set a new school record in the hammer throw
with a toss of 46.47 meters for 13th place in the event. Junior
Dominique Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Vincent) placed first in the
long jump (6.64m) and second in the triple jump (13.95m).
Johnson, who currently ranks eighth in the country in the triple
jump, will wait to hear on Sunday if he receives an invite to the
NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Marietta, Ohio.
Freshman Tate Plath (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) ran a
season best in the 800 meters by finishing with a time of 2:02.06.
Junior Ryan Timm (New Ulm, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran)
accumulated 5,145 points in the decathlon to beat out David Zeko
from Augustana.
The Warriors finished their season by breaking a combined 17
school records between both the indoor and outdoor season.
