Warriors compete at Dr. Keeler Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on Thursday and Friday at North Central College's Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Junior Dominique Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Vincent) improved his NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the long jump by leaping a school-record 7.06 meters to finish second among 28 competitors in the event. His best previous mark in the event was 7.04 meters. Johnson also placed third of 13 in the triple jump with a mark of 14.22 meters.

Freshman Tate Plath (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) ran a season best time of 2:03.04 in the 800 meters. Sophomore Blake Miller (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) shattered his personal best in the 1500 by finishing the race in 4:15.02, eight seconds faster than his previous best time in the event.

Five other Warriors competed in events over the two-day event, where team scores were not kept.

Wisconsin Lutheran returns to the track on Friday, May 15 when it competes in the Augustana Twilight in Rock Island, Ill. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
