MILWAUKEE - Junior Meta Kolander (Brookfield,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded her second straight hat trick and
four other Warriors tallied goals as the Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's soccer team defeated Mount Mary College 8-1 on Thursday in
a non-conference game.
The Warriors, who scored four goals in each half, finished the
game with 26 shots, including 21 on goal. Kolander scored WLC's
first goal just over one minute into the game, while Brittany
Peters (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) added the second tally of the
contest at the 3:41 mark for a 2-0 lead. Kolander proceeded with
two more goals in the second half, while Peters also added another
in the second half.
Kathryn Koepke (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), Lauren
Mantz (West Bend, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Kristen
Lavallee (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) also scored for the Warriors.
Kolander, Mantz, Koepke, Lavallee, Lynsey Biefeld (Ixonia,
Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) and Emily Helwig (Westland, Mich./Huron
Valley Lutheran) each were credited with an assist.
Junior Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) faced just
three shots in the match for WLC and made a pair of saves.
Ericca Brown notched the loan goal for Mount Mary (1-3).
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-3) hosts North Central College (3-0) on
Saturday in a 1 p.m. non-conference game at Warrior Field.
