KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team opened its 2010 indoor track &
field season on Saturday at the Carthage College Tadd Metzger
Invitational held at the Tarble Athletic Center.
The Warriors, who scored 17 points to finish 12th among 15 teams
in the final standings, had four student-athletes compete on the
afternoon. Competing in his first collegiate meet, freshman Tyler
Wagner (Lena, Wis./Lena/St. Thomas) tied for first place in the
pole vault with a mark of 3.81 meters (12' 6").
Senior Tyler Schroeder (Sparta, Wis./Bangor) and junior Blake
Miller (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) both ran the 1,000
meters, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively, in the event.
Schroeder recorded a time of 2:52.75, while Miller crossed the
finish line in 2:57.92. Junior Chris Martin (Grapevine,
Texas/Christian) competed in the 3,000 meters, placing 17th with a
time of 11:51.90.
Invite host Carthage College won five events to claim the team
title with 144 points. Fellow NAC member MSOE finished second with
118 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran has next weekend off before returning to
competition on Saturday, February 13 at the UW-Platteville
