STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Freshman Josh Stodola
(Denmark, Wis./Denmark) tied a school record in the 200-meter dash
on Saturday to pace the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track
& field team at the Pointer Eastbay Invitational.
Stodola tied Aaron Wiechmann's school record, which he set
during the 2001 season, in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.61.
He placed 25th out of 55 in the event. Stodola also competed in the
55-meter hurdles, where he finished with a time of 8.43
seconds.
Sophomores Dominic Fiorini (Kohler, Wis./Kohler) (24.58), Dan
Tilly (West Bend, Wis./West) (25.04) and Chris Shoop (Phoenix,
Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) (25.39) also raced in the 200-meter dash.
Both Fiorini and Tilly competed in the 400-meter dash as well,
recording times of 55.08 and 55.42, respectively.
Senior Tyler Schroeder (Sparta, Wis./Bangor) finished the
800-meter run in 2:13.24, while junior Chris Martin (Grapevine,
Texas/Christian) turned in a time of 5:28.96 in the mile run.
WLC had a pair of teams compete in the 1600-meter relay,
registering times of 3:43.21 and 4:03.11, respectively. Freshman
Lamont Anderson (Milwaukee, Wis./Hamilton) participated in the both
the shot put (11.03 meters) and weight throw (9.87 meters) to round
out the Warriors' competitors.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Saturday, February 27,
when it competes in the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Track
& Field Championships at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
