KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team finished eighth out of nine teams on
Saturday at the 2010 NAC Indoor Track & Field Championships
held at Carthage College's Tarble Athletic and Recreation
Center.
Freshman Josh Stodola (Denmark, Wis./Denmark) paced Wisconsin
Lutheran by scoring seven of the team's 14 points on the day.
Stodola placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.08,
just one-tenth of a second from tying his own school record that
was set earlier this season. He also finished seventh in the
55-meter dash with a time of 6.79 and 12th of 34 in the 200-meter
dash (24.18).
Sophomore Dominic Fiorini (Kohler, Wis./Kohler) placed seventh
of 18 in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 54.44 to
earn two points. Fiorini was also a part of WLC's 1600-meter relay
team composed of Stodola, Jorge Mora (Milwaukee, Wis./Hamilton) and
Dan Tilly (West Bend, Wis./West) that placed sixth with a time of
3:42.29.
The Warriors' remaining points came from their distance medley
relay team of Tyler Schroeder (Sparta, Wis./Bangor), Mora , Jake
Jaehnke (Sheboygan, Wis./North) and Blake Miller (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), which placed seventh with a time of
12:16.84.
WLC concluded the meet with 14 points, 10 points in front of
Lakeland College. Concordia University Wisconsin took home six
events to capture its second straight conference indoor
championship with 160 points. MSOE was a distant second with 120.50
points.
Wisconsin Lutheran continues its indoor season next Friday,
March 5 with the Karl Schlender Last Chance Meet in Whitewater,
Wis.
