MILWAUKEE - Edgewood College found its offense in game two as it earned a split of a NAC baseball doubleheader with a 17-9 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday at Neumann Family Field.

The Eagles jumped on Warriors senior starter John Lynch (Rosendale, Wis./Laconia) with five runs in the first inning. They would add two more in the second to take a 7-0 lead.

Junior Ryan Pollesch (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) ripped a double down the left field line to score sophomore David Frelich (Maribel, Wis./Denmark) for the Warriors' first run of the game in the third inning. WLC crept within a run, 7-6, by rallying for five runs on six hits in the fifth inning. However, Edgewood scored five runs of its own in the sixth and eighth innings to expand its lead again and secure the victory.

Pollesch, Josh Ferrell (Cocoa, Fla./Temple Christian) and Kyle Edlhuber (Mukwonago, Wis./Luther Preparatory) had two hits apiece for the Warriors. Seven different players recorded an RBI.

Erik Massey, Steven Binder and Ryan Walker all had three RBIs to lead the Edgwood (20-12, 11-5 NAC) offense. Walker also added four hits and three runs scored. Blake Hunt earned the win by pitching two innings in a relief role. Patrick Clerkin recorded a three-inning save.

Wisconsin Lutheran (8-21, 4-10 NAC) resumes its suspended doubleheader with Lakeland College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan, Wis. The Warriors will continue game one of their twinbill with the Muskies in the top of the sixth trailing by a score of 11-2. Game two will follow shortly after.
