WAUKESHA, Wis. - Freshman Josh Stodola
(Denmark, Wis./Denmark) broke his own school record in the
110-meter hurdles by .32 seconds on Saturday to lead WLC men's
track & field team at the Private College Championships hosted
by Carroll University.
Stodola placed third with a school-record time of 15.37 in the
finals of the 110-meter hurdles to collect six points for the
Warriors. Earlier in the day, he toed the finish line in the
prelims of the event with a time of 15.54. Stodola also qualified
for the finals of the 100-meter dash with his fifth place finish
(11.19) in the prelims, but did not race in the finals. In the
200-meter dash, he finished 11th of 32 with a time of 22.83.
WLC also had solid performances from sophomore Chris Shoop
(Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran), who competed in the both the
100- and 200-meter dash, compiling times of 11.78 and 23.61 in the
events, respectively, and junior Blake Miller (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) whose time of 4:33.12 in the 1500 meters
was good for a 17th-place finish of 30 in the event.
The Warriors received their final three points from their
1,600-meter relay team, which finished in 3:49.05.
Wisconsin Lutheran finished with nine points for a ninth-place
finish in the team standings. Meet host Carroll University won its
second straight championship after scoring 168 points.
The Warriors return home to Raabe Stadium for their final home
meet of the season next weekend, May 7-8, to host the 2010 Northern
Athletics Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Events get underway at 3 p.m. on Friday before resuming on Saturday
at 11 a.m.
