WLC drops NAC contest at rival CUW

MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team fell to Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field in Mequon, Wis., 6-0.

The Falcons scored three goals in each half starting with two goals by Hannah Brehmer scored at 22:54 and 29:38 to give CUW an early 2-0 advantage. The hosts added their third goal of the half with just 41 seconds left before halftime.

In the opening half, freshman Sarah Luebke (Kaukauna, Wis./ Fox Valley Lutheran) made eight saves the keep the margin at three heading into the break.

Three more second-half scores helped the Falcons prevail to the 6-0 victory as they collected 25 shots in the game.

Luebke finished with 13 saves in the net for the forest green and white. Lauren Straehler led Concordia Wisconsin (9-5, 8-2 NAC) with seven shots, including her first-half netter. Three Falcon goalies combined for the shutout.

The Warriors (2-13, 2-7 NAC) will return to action Tuesday night when they play their final home game of the 2011 season against Concordia University Chicago (9-6, 4-6 NAC). Game time at Warrior Field is set for 7 p.m.
