Warriors open indoor track & field season at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed in its first meet of the indoor season on Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational held at the Williams Fieldhouse.

Travis Townsend (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) competed in the 55-meter dash and finished with a time of 6.94 seconds for 22nd place in the event. The event was won by Phillip Jones of the University of Dubuque in a time of 6.44 seconds. Townsend also competed in the 200-meter dash, crossing the tape in a time of 24.56 seconds. Greater Milwaukee runner Brian Seniuk finished in first in the event with a time of 22.80.

Chris Martin (Grapevine, Texas/Christian) competed in the 3,000-meter run for the Warriors and came in with a time of 10:47.79. UW-Oshkosh's Tyler Morey won the event with a time of 8:43.95.

Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Saturday, February 19 at the Pointer Eastbay Invitational in Stevens Point, Wis.
