NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Four members of the
Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team recorded
personal bests Thursday and Friday at the non-team scoring Dr.
Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College at
Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
Senior Blake Miller (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) raced
to a new personal best in the 800-meter run with his finishing time
of 2:01.55 in the 96-competitor field. Miller's previous best time
in the event was 2:05.89.
Seniors Chris Martin (Grapevine, Texas/Christian) and Sean
Gogerty (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) both achieved personal bests
in the 1500-meter run. Martin finished the race in 4:39.36, topping
his previous best time of 4:46.90 in the event. Gogerty crossed the
finish line in 4:48.33, also bettering his prior best mark of
4:58.08 in the event.
Freshman Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee
Lutheran) competed in the 400-meter dash and also reached a new
personal best in the event with his time of 52.44. His previous
best time in the event was 52.85.
Biancuzzo, Miller, Martin and Gogerty also teamed up in the
4x400-meter relay and compiled a time of 3:53.26.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Friday, May 20 at the
Augustana Twilight Qualifier in Rock Island, Ill. Events are
scheduled to start at 12 p.m. at the Paul V. Olsen Track.
