ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's track & field team concluded its 2011 outdoor
season Friday night at the Augustana Twilight Qualifier held on the
Paul V. Olsen Track.
Freshman Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee
Lutheran) and senior Sean Gogerty (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka)
each set personal bests in their respective events. Biancuzzo
finished the 800-meter run in a personal best time of 1:59.46,
breaking his previous best time in the event by .24 seconds.
Gogerty also achieved a personal best time in the 1500-meter run
for the second consecutive week. He crossed the finish line in
4:41.14, breaking his previous best time in the event by 7.19
seconds. Fellow senior Chris Martin (Grapevine, Texas/Christian)
also competed in his final 5000-meter run for the forest green and
white, finishing with a time of 18:03.62.
Former Warrior standout Zach Shiels joined current team members
junior Tate Plath (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran), Biancuzzo and
Gogerty to comprise an unattached 4x400-meter relay team. The
foursome totaled a finishing time of 3:46.68.
